JEE Main preparation strategy
I used to spend a lot of time researching the best way to study and get maximum marks in the least amount of time. That one strategy that would open the doors to my dream college.
Getting a high score in JEE isn't that difficult if you are determined and you follow the Right strategy. The one, I am going to share, isn't very new but extremely effective and might help you score over 180 in JEE Main.
Before an exam, we always find ourselves asking for the important, difficult, and easier topics, and topics that would give us the maximum marks, and this is what you have to start with. Take one subject and divide the syllabus into three sections. Stage -1 should have easy chapters that have a higher weightage and Stage - 2 is where you include chapters that are lengthy and hard but once grasped, they give you marks. Lastly, in the third section (Stage-3 ) keep topics you would only cover if you have enough time and your main focus is to get in the really top AIRs and not just qualifying with a great score. The underlining part in this is that you should avoid going to the next section without being thorough with the first.
Let's get into details. What you should do is pick one subject, say Chemistry, and start with easier chapters like hydrocarbons, biomolecules, d & f block elements, solid-state, etc and these become the part of your stage-1. These chapters are relatively easier to cover and will act as your confidence booster in your JEE paper. They'll also help you set your flow and cover a majority of the paper's mark weightage.
For Stage- 2, you could move on to chapters like Atomic Structure, Gauss Laws, Periodic Table, Chemical Bonding, etc. They require a little more practice but once done, you'll see yourself much more prepared than before and you have completed about 70% of the paper and then you are all set to go to the last phase of the preparation and do the chapters left.
If you go through this process, you'll see your scores improved and have a greater probability to score 180+. (it is a tried and tested method).
Though there are a few suggestions to keep in mind while doing this 45-day revision streak.
First, it is that you shouldn't stop revising. With every stage you finish, the revision simultaneously continues with the next stage i.e. if you are on Stage -2, don't stop preparing for stage 1. This is advised, for retention. and also practice makes a man perfect, so you should keep practicing.
Second, I?d suggest you study every subject, every day, and not complete one subject in one go. Reason? It takes a lot of time procrastinating and completing the syllabus if you start with one subject at a time. But, if you do a part of Physics, Chemistry, and Maths every day, you are at a benefit, because JEE doesn?t have three different papers for each subject but has one, where you have all three subjects. So it's better if you train yourself already
Third, solve mock tests. The more you solve mock tests, the more you analyze, and the more you can improve.
Fourth, while it is advised to spend 12-14 days on Stage - 1, 16-20 days on Stage -2 and Spend rest of the days on Level-3 while you revise for Level-1 and Level-2, it is not mandatory to do so. You can adjust this according to the time left and in such a way that you don't skip any part of any Stage -1 and stage-2.
And thus, here is the strategy that might help you get closer to the top AIRs but the catch here is trust. While there are plenty of good strategies and we can get impatient but mixing strategies could also lead to confusion and less results. So follow one and then if it doesn?t work in some time, switch to other strategy
All the best!
