JEE Advanced is the second and final entrance to fulfil your dreams of getting into an IIT. JEE Advanced 2021 Eligibility Criteria
- Performance in JEE Main 2021: Candidates should be amongst the top 2,50,000* successful candidates (including all categories) in B.Tech/B.E. paper of JEE Main
- Age limit: Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1996. For SC, ST and PwD candidates, the criterion is that they should have been born on or after October 1, 1991.
- Number of attempts: A candidate can attempt JEE Advanced, maximum of two times in two consecutive years.
- Qualifying Exam : A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2020 or 2021 with the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- Relaxaion : Candidates who successfully registered for JEE Advanced 2020 but were absent in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of JEE Advanced 2020 are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2021. But, they must register online for the JEE Advanced 2021 along with the registration fee. These candidates would however, not be considered as part of the total number of candidates who would qualify from JEE Main 2021 for appearing in JEE Advanced 2021 , but would be considered as additional candidates.

- Pay for the registration fee of your category, either online or offline. Instructions would be mentioned on how.
- Lastly, submit application and print out the confirmation page for future references.

This is a one-time measure valid only for JEE Main 2021.
Who are not eligible?
- Candidates who had appeared in Class XII (or equivalent) examination, for the first time in 2019 or earlier, are NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2021.
- A candidate should NOT have been admitted to an IIT irrespective of whether or not the candidate continued in the program OR accepted a seat at an IIT by reporting “online” / at a “reporting centre”through JoSAA in the past.
- Candidates whose admission to IITs was cancelled after joining any IIT are also NOT eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2021.
- Candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs for the first time in 2020 can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2021.
